Finnish technology company for off-grid electricity solutions

Wattium Oy develops and supplies independent electrical systems for leisure properties. The company was born out of a practical need and has grown through long-term product development into a total solution that combines technology, comfort and reliability.

Our goal is simple: electricity works – without the user having to constantly think about it.

Background

Wattium was inspired by my own cottage experience.

The challenge was not to generate electricity, but to manage it. The solutions required constant adjustment and technical understanding on the part of the user.

The objective was set as a principle:

At the cottage, electricity should feel the same as it does on the grid – carefree.

The first versions worked, but development continued. Over the years, the system evolved into a controlled whole, where the performance of the whole system, rather than individual devices, was the key factor.

Knowledge and development

Wattium has a strong background in technology and infrastructure solutions. Development work has focused on optimising the whole:

• load peak management

• minimising rest consumption

• consideration of cold conditions

• longevity and maintainability

• simplifying usability

The key innovation of the solution is protected by a patent. It reflects a commitment to original and long-term development.

Development through customer experience

The systems have been developed based on real-life use and customer feedback.

In particular, practical experience has led to improvements in:

• automation

• remote monitoring

• energy management

• clarity of user experience

The aim is not a single delivery, but a long-term, functioning whole.

Customer support and responsibility

Wattium acts as the overall responsible partner.

One supplier is responsible for sizing, delivery, commissioning and follow-up support. Responsibility is clear and the relationship with the customer is long-term.

Founder

Wattium was born out of a desire to solve a practical problem properly. Technology should serve the user – not the other way around. Systems-level thinking and long experience in demanding technology solutions continue to guide development.

Kauko has more than 30 years of experience in IT and infrastructure projects and in managing large-scale design and development projects. He holds patents and has a strong background in software and hardware design.

Team and partner network

Wattium is not a single product project, but the result of collaboration.

A select number of experts and subcontractors are involved in the development and implementation of the solutions, covering:

• electronics and equipment design

• software development

• system integration

• manufacturing and assembly

Together with a team and a network of partners, Wattium designs and implements solutions that work reliably even in Finland’s demanding conditions.
